Lands End Woodland continues the tradition of Lands End and it's culture by frying fish and chicken dinners and hosting oyster roasts about twice a year to raise money for the taxes, insurance and property maintenance.The River Festival will do the same this Labor Day Weekend.
The River Festival is being held to celebrate the Gullah culture and to raise money for the organization.
If you live in an apartment in Beaufort, SC head to Lands End Woodland River Festival on St Helena Island, on August 29 and 30 for the festival. Center Stage Entertainment includes: Gullah storytellers; African dancers and drummers; art sale; historical tours; puppet show; fishing. Also, you can learn about Center for Heirs Property Sustainable Forestry. Enjoy too, “A Taste of Gullah” as well as food and craft vendors.
Friday, August 29th, is the Old fashioned fish fry & chicken, 5-11 p.m. Dinners. DJ Music on the beach all night long. Free Admission.
Saturday, August 30th is the All Day Festival from 11-6pm
Center stage will host performers, dancers, singers, chiors, and artists. Along with exhibits there will also be food, craft vendors and t-shirts. Riverside Plantation Tabby Ruins & Civil War Exhibit. Exhibits and Re-enactors; fun for kids; fishing on the beach; bring your own chair.
